Charlotte Moss at SFDC
Charlotte Moss has recently designed and launched a textile collection for Fabricut. We were able to meet and listen to Charlotte at the annual SFDC (San Francisco Design Center) Design San Francisco event earlier this month. She shared with us details on how her fabrics were inspired. One inspiration came from Charlotte’s basket room in her home. She thought that should be reflected somewhere in her collection. So she chose bright colors as the background and made all the baskets white. You can see this on the sofa above. I love this. She was so interesting and fun to listen to.

Suzanne Kasler for Lee Jofa

Suzanne Kasler for Lee Jofa

One of my favorite designers is Suzanne Kasler. We were lucky enough to listen to her at Lee Jofa talk about her new collection shown above. We all loved her energy. She was warm and authentic. She told us she loves going to Paris flea markets, acquiring fabulous pieces and refurbishing them. This Hickory Chair sofa shown below was inspired by a piece she purchased in Paris. On the original, she painted the frame cream and pieced two colors of linen together to make this fabulous pattern. I loved seeing pictures and hearing details on how many of her projects evolved into gorgeous homes. Many of those are pictured in her book.

Trina Turk
Trina Turk was a keynote speaker. She talked about how on photo shoots for her swimwear and clothing lines, they would make pillows out of her fabulous fabrics. After the photo shoots, they would put them in her boutiques to sell. They would fly off the shelves. That was the start of her collaboration with Schumacher to make fabulous Sunbrella Fabrics as shown.

Leslie

It is with tremendous sadness that I share the news of Leslie’s passing. Leslie was more than a business partner. Through the years she has been my inspiration and motivation, but mostly, she was a great friend and a formidable ally. Her fight against breast cancer was stoic and gave us all strength and courage. Her spirit is embedded in our company and her memory will remain with us forever. We will miss her.
